Condensation In A Robertson County Crawlspace

A Robertson County resident called and asked that we take care of the mold in his crawlspace. Our production manager inspected the crawlspace to find that the cause of the mold was the condensation forming on his HVAC trunk lines. The inspection was completed in the summer and the home was kept at a very cool temperature inside which caused the condensation to form on the trunk lines and drip onto the vapor barrier underneath. We completed the remediation, but advised the homeowner that he would need to encapsulate the crawlspace in an effort to keep the humidity at a low. We also advised that it would be beneficial to install a dehumidifier.
